Done-for-you websites: what to expect, start to finish

A done-for-you website means someone else handles the design, build, launch and upkeep. Here is what that looks like in practice, what you still need to bring, and what to watch for.

What "done for you" should cover

  • Planning: what the site needs to do, which pages it needs and who it is for.
  • Design: a layout made for your business and brand, not a lightly edited template.
  • Build: a fast, mobile-friendly site with SEO foundations in place.
  • Launch: connecting your domain, SSL, analytics, and redirects from any old site.
  • After launch: hosting, updates, backups and someone to call when you need a change.

If a provider stops at launch, it is a build service, not done for you. Ask what happens in month two.

What you still need to provide

  • Answers about your business: what you sell, who buys it, and what a good lead looks like. A short call covers most of it.
  • Your logo and brand colors, if you have them.
  • Photos of your work, team or space. Real photos beat stock almost every time.
  • Feedback on the design and copy, usually in one or two rounds.
  • Access to your domain registrar and any existing site, Google Business Profile or analytics.

A good provider writes or polishes the copy with you rather than waiting for you to send every word.

How long it takes

A small business site with a handful of pages typically takes two to six weeks from the first call to launch. The biggest variable is usually feedback and content on the client side, not the build itself. Online stores and larger sites take longer.

Red flags

  • You cannot see real sites they have built and still run.
  • The domain is registered in their name, not yours.
  • You cannot export your content or take the site with you if you leave.
  • Every small change needs a new quote.
  • A long contract with a large early-exit fee.

How it works with Bunched

  1. Book a call. We talk through your business and which plan fits.
  2. Design and build. A custom design, then a fast headless build. Your first month's payment covers it.
  3. Launch on our hosting. Domain, SSL, CDN, backups and redirects handled.
  4. Keep improving. Updates, monitoring and support every month, and on Growth and Premium, SEO work and a report on what changed.

No contract, and your domain and content stay yours. See sites we have built or plans and pricing.

Quick answers

A service where one provider plans, designs, builds, launches and maintains your website, so you are not doing the work yourself or managing several vendors.

A small business site usually takes two to six weeks from the first call to launch. Timely feedback and photos from you are the biggest factor.

You should. Your domain should be registered in your name and your content should be exportable. Ask before you sign. With Bunched, your domain and content are yours.
